Renovation and conversion of a 1970’s public middle school to a Sanctuary, as well as a new Multi-Purpose Building.
The Sanctuary is framed with a curved glulaminated roof and steel tension ring. New shear walls were strategically added to eliminate the requirement to retrofit existing non-conforming steel moment frames.
New Multi-purpose building, framed with long span steel joists, was seismically separated to eliminate mandatory upgrades to Sanctuary and remaining buildings on site.
