IDA designed a structural retrofit and interior and exterior renovations as well as restored historic elements for the City of Berkeley’s Adult Mental Health Clinic building.
The complicated renovations include threading new mechanical systems through the structure and adding solar to the building. The work was an ASCE 41-13 upgrade with new shear walls, hold downs, roof sheathing, and foundations. The clinic provides mental health and related social services to Berkeley and Albany community members and their families and is listed as a local historic structure.
