IDA designed this new building - sandwiched between two existing structures - consisting of one-bedroom and three-bedroom
apartments.
Just steps away from transit and the UC Berkeley campus, this new 50-unit housing structure in downtown Berkeley is the true meaning of urban infill. The structure is five stories of wood construction over one level of one-way concrete pre-stressed slab with pre-stressed concrete beams. The foundation is a shallow spread foundation over Drill Displacement Columns.
